Dan Georgescu, M.D.

Dan Georgescu was born in Bucharest, Romania on April 6, 1975 as the first and only child of Adrian and Mariana Georgescu, both engineers. At age eighteen, after completing the initial twelve grades in Bucharest, he was accepted to the Carol Davila Medical School, the oldest and most prestigious medical school in Romania. After receiving his M.D. degree in 1999, he moved to US to continue his education as a graduate student at Yale University, CT. Research work done between 1999 and 2004 resulted in a M.S. degree from Yale University and a Ph.D. degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX. He then completed a one year ophthalmology / medicine internship at the University of Utah Medical Center and is currently a third year ophthalmology resident at Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT. His extracurricular hobbies include skiing, biking, hiking and rock climbing, among many, many other things.
