Course # 7700–Neuro-Ophthalmology Course
ROTATION MUST BE APPROVED BY NEURO-OPHTHALMOLOGY BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS COURSE
Learning Objectives
This course is a course that reviews all the basics in Neuro-ophthalmology. The student will be able to recognize papilledema, know how to evaluate diplopia, and know how to recognize optic neuropathic (includes optic neuritis and anterior ischemia). The student will be able to recognize common cranial neuropathic III, IV, VI and palsies.
Prerequisite
Senior medical students; junior medical students doing their senior rotation will also be considered.
Evaluation Criteria
- Evaluations have been computerized and will be coordinated by the Ophthalmology’s Academic Office.
- Evaluations will be completed by the resident or faculty on rotation with the medical student.
- Evaluations are signed by Kathleen Digre, M.D.
- Originals are sent to Student Affairs; copies are kept on file in the Ophthalmology’s Academic Office.
Neuro-Ophthalmology is located in the Department of Ophthalmology at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah Health Sciences Center. The Neuro-Ophthalmology faculty are: Kathleen Digre, M.D., Professor and Director, Judith Warner, M.D., Associate Professor and Bradley Katz, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor.
