Alessandra Angelucci,

Research Interest: Functional connectivity of
visual cortex neurons
Dr. Angelucci’s research focuses on how the visual cortex functions. She
works with Dr. Jennifer Lund studying the wiring and functional properties
of the visual cortex and investigating the visual centers of the brain. The
department currently has no one involved in visual cortex research and Dr.
Angelucci fills a much-needed role. Dr. Angelucci received her medical
degree from Italy’s University of Rome La Sapienza and her Ph.D. from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her work has been published in a
number of publications including the prestigious journal Nature.
