ACCREDITATION FOR RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The Moran Eye Center recently received a full four-year re-accreditation for our residency program by the Accredited Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The achievement was made possible by many months of hard work (including many 60-70+ hour work weeks) by Mark D. Mifflin, MD, Program Director & Elaine Schwanebeck, Academic Program Administrator, with the help, hard work, and support of Alicia Doxon, Academic Coordinator and Barbara Korous, Administrative Manager. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is responsible for the Accreditation of post-MD medical training programs within the United States. Accreditation is accomplished through a peer review process and is based upon established standards and guidelines.
