Foundation Fighting Blindness Sponsoring Retinal Diseases Symposium at Moran Eye Center

Salt Lake City, Utah. March 3, 2008. The John A. Moran Eye Center hosted a public science and technology symposium on Retinal Diseases, Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the first floor auditorium.

Blinding retinal diseases afflict 12 million people in the United States. Included in this group of blinding eye diseases are: Macular Degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP, Stargardt disease, LCA, Usher syndrome, retinoschisis, and any of the other numerous retinal diseases. These are progressive retinal diseases and often lead to complete loss of vision. While treatments for these conditions are still being researched and tested, there are several promising study results that will be shared at this meeting. The following experts will discuss an overview of this research at the symposium:
