Sjogren's Walkabout
Salt Lake City, Utah
March 10, 2008

The local support group for the mysterious chronic disease called Sjogren's (pronounced SHOW-GRINS) is hosting a "Walkabout" for the first time in Utah to raise funds to support research and education programs offered by the Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation. Special thanks to the Moran Eye Center as the Major Sponsor of this event! We also thank Advanced Vision Research makers of Thera Tears, The Newell Foundation and Allergan all who proudly support this event. The Walkabout will be held at the Valley Fair Malls Olympic Mile in West Valley City, UT on Saturday morning, March 29th, 2008.
Sjögren's Syndrome has no known cause or cure, and the many people affected by this disease desperately need research and education funds to help them, as well as the upwards of 4,000,000 people in the United States who are suffering from this unusual autoimmune affliction. Sjögren's syndrome is a major concern since it attacks more women than Breast Cancer.
Sjögren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease, in which the white blood cells attack the moisture producing glands. Approximately 10% of its victims will develop Lymphoma, a form of cancer. All proceeds from the "Walkabout" will go directly to the Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation, the only non-profit health organization dedicated solely to Sjögren's syndrome.
The Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation encourages you to join at the event and to invite your family and friends to participate as well.
