Sjogren's Syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the glands that produce tears and saliva. Roughly one million Americans are diagnosed with the disease that primarily impacts women. The disease is often associated with rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, polymyositis, and scleroderma.
