Dr. David Apple's book a best seller - first edition almost sold out

After 20 years of research David Apple, M.D., Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Utah, and Director of the David J. Apple Center for Ocular Biodevices at the John A. Moran Eye Center, recently completed and published a landmark book titled, "Sir Harold Ridley and His Fight for Sight."

The book is based on Dr. Apple's friendship with Sir Harold Ridley, inventor of the intraocular lens (IOL). The book covers Sir Ridley's personal experience with eye injuries suffered by World War II fighter pilots. This book adds to Dr. Apples prolific record of publications, including 23 books, 71 book chapters and 529 original articles. He has also given 1,400 scientific presentations worldwide!
