Burn Trauma ICU
The
Intermountain Burn Center/Burn Trauma Intensive Care Unit includes
a twelve bed ICU, operating room, burn therapy and outpatient
departments. It is designed to treat both pediatric and adult
thermally / chemically / electrically injured patients, hypothermic
patients and other patient populations with soft tissue diseases,
injuries or open wounds requiring special care. Other patients
requiring critical care services are admitted to the BTICU as
census dictates.
Approximately 66% of the patient population is
male, 35% are children.
Nursing shifts are routinely 12 hour shifts on
a rotating basis. Self scheduling within given parameters has
been very successful on the unit.
