Welcome! The University Hospital's Burn Center is a 12 - bed adult and pediatric intensive care and rehabilitation unit, directed by Jeffrey R. Saffle, MD, FACS. It includes a physical therapy department, rehabilitation area, operating room, hydrotherapy room, skin bank, outpatient wound care and medical clinic. The center admits some 300-350 acute burn/trauma patients and has more than 5000 clinic visits per year. The Burn Center has long been the major referral center for the Intermountain area for the treatment of both adult and pediatric thermally injured patients. In addition to burn patients, the Burn Center treats patients with toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN's) and soft tissue infections which require surgery. We serve the largest geographical area of any burn facility in the country. The Burn Care Team provides care for patients and their families at the Burn Center. The team consists of:
