Evaluation
Assessing project outcomes and effectiveness
The primary mission of the Evaluation component of the University of Utah National Center of Excellence in Women's Health, Region VIII Demonstration Project (CoE) is to assist other CoE components to evaluate outcome measures and to seek funding and/or assistance for activities that cut across areas.
Each of the five components, clinical, research, community outreach, professional education, and leadership has addressed performance indicators for each of their planned activities. Additional evaluation outcome measures are targeted for each area.
Evaluation efforts include both formative and summative methods. Formative feedback is used to improve activities and approaches and summative methods are used to determine the overall effectiveness of the initiative being evaluated. Evaluation methods include qualitative approaches such as focus groups and interviews and quantitative strategies such as test performance and tracking improvements in women's representation in key areas.
