"In 1983 Dr. Jay Aldous began a tradition of mentorship at the University of Utah Dental Residency Program that we still strive to preserve. We currently have thirty-two attending dentists that spend a half-day every other week teaching and supervising dental residents. Our attending dentists come from many different dental schools and represent many different philosophies in dentistry. They strive to challenge and help the residents work with many different patients and dental problems. The variety of patients and patient needs is a real asset of this program."

"Residents have an opportunity to certify in IV sedation, place and restore implants, work with an endodontist on rotary endo, gain experience in third molar extractions and participate in hospital dentistry. There are no step checks, only challenges to prepare you for your future. The training program draws on all resources of the hospital."

"We hope you will consider our program as you look at your future in dentistry."
