RDEP Programs (1st Year Dental School) Dental Education Programs:
The State of Utah, through the Regional Dental Education program, now offers two programs to qualified and selected Utah students (a total of 20 students per year), to help finance their dental education. Each of the two programs is unique and offers individual advantages, but they have some commonality in financing. Unfortunately, there is not sufficient funding for all qualified pre-dental students. Therefore, there is an application and selection process for each program. We will continue to offer 10 positions per year in the RDEP-Creighton program, and offer an additional 10 positions per year with the RDEP "At Large" program, for a total of 20 positions per year. The "At Large" program has a separate application in addition to the AADSAS application process and a Utah student must be admitted to an ADA Accredited Dental School before applying to the "At Large" program. Both programs require the applicant to be a resident of the State of Utah for five years or more as of September 1, 2011. Please see the program links below for details on each program.
