Welcome to Price File/Charge Master Department!
The Price File Department foscuses on revenue related policy, pricing structures and charge capture throughout the hospitals and clinics. Price File focuses on the following:
Coding - To accurately indicate what services were performed through the use of current
governments and commercial insurance mandated and approved CPT, HCPCS and revenue codes, and current industry billing practices
Compliance - To charge appropriately for those services which have been approved and deemed medically necessary in accordanance with CMS rules and regulations.
Consistency - To evaluate and charge for services using a standard methodology and logic for all departments, units and clinics.
Competitiveness - To price items and services in accordance with University Hospitals and Clinics' strategic plan. To evaluate our prices in comparison to costs, and government and
commercial payor reimbursement.
