Coding & Dictation
Coding Services
The Health Information Coding Service is responsible for the coding of the patients' chart. This information is used for research, statistical, and reimbursement purposes. Inpatient charts are assigned a DRG (Diagnostic Related Group) and ambulatory charts are assigned an APG (Ambulatory Patient Groups).
If you need a code, you can call the coding line at 581-4866. When calling for a code we will need some basic information such as the patient's sex, age, and diagnosis(es). Also, it is best to have the chart in front of you; in case we have questions about the diagnosis.
Dictation Services
Digital Dictation lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays) for your convenience.
