Dictation Incentive Credit Information
- Ambulatory, ER, Moran Eye Center and Wasatch Clinic surgeries are not eligible for credit, only inpatient operative reports.
- Fellows with admitting privileges or Attending physicians who may be doing a resident rotation are not eligible for the Dictation Incentive Credit.
- The IRS views this as income and requires that taxes be withheld. This is done through the Payroll office. Paid out credits will appear on your University Hospital check stub as "Dictation Incentive."
- IMPORTANT: If you are not paid by the University of Utah (i.e., the Military or Public Health Services), notify us immediately - Special arrangements need to be made for your credits. This program was approved for residents only.
- If you do not wish to participate in the Incentive Program (possibly putting you into a higher tax bracket), notify us in writing and we will be glad to remove you from our tracking system.
- See "Incentive Pay out Schedule" for the dates the incentives are paid out.
- The specialists in the Physicians' Charting Area are there to assist you in the timely completion of your patients' records. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please direct them to 581-2790.
