IT Clinical Enterprise Project Approval Process:
IT Oversight Committee (ITOC)

The IT Oversight Committee (ITOC) is a Health Sciences Center leadership forum created to:

  • Assist with allocating resources to priority IT Clinical Enterprise projects.
  • Assist the Health Sciences Center in understanding what IT resources have been allocated to current and future projects.
  • Educate project owners on the complexities involved in developing and/or implementing a successful IT Clinical Enterprise project.
The ITOC is not meant to hinder academic research and innovation in any way; rather, it is designed to facilitate collaboration among Health Sciences Center IT activities. Academic IT endeavors should be submitted for information and review.
  • Projects requesting financial resources and ITS core functions or support in excess of $5000 annually in capital or personnel resources will require ITOC approval. For submission requirements, please review the IT Clinical Enterprise Project Submission Guidelines.
The ITOC will review project proposals, ascertain feasibility for the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, and make recommendations to the Health Sciences Executive Council (HSEC), who will make the final decision.
