IT Clinical Enterprise Project Approval Process:
Project Submission Guidelines

The goal of the ITOC is to ensure that all aspects of project feasibility are considered. As a result, all IT Clinical Enterprise Project submissions are to be in the format of a proposal and budget estimate, following the guidelines laid out in the New Project Proposal Form and New Project Pre-approval Budget Form.

Each project should meet the necessary criteria for the Health Sciences Center in the following areas:

  • Organizational
  • Technical
  • Economic
  • Operational
  • Regulatory

In addition, projects will also be considered based on their relevance to the overall Clinical Enterprise Strategic Plan, and World Class U Pillars, and weighted on a Criteria and Scoring Process which will gauge the expected benefits and risks of each project. Using this method, the Committee will identify candidate projects that will most effectively and efficiently support both the IT Strategic Plan as well as the overall HSC Clinical Enterprise and Mission Objectives.

Proposals will be reviewed by the ITS Leadership Team, after which an ITS analyst will conduct a feasibility study of the proposal, and provide the results to the ITOC for their consideration.
