Established to Serve Utah's Disabled Miners

Various outreach activities have been and will be conducted in communities throughout the state of Utah. During the first past year of operation, staff met with federal and state mine representatives, mine safety officers, senior citizen groups and health care provider and senior citizen groups to present services offered by the Miners Hospital.

A Miners Hospital exhibit was presented at various conferences this year including the Utah Mining Association conference in Park City and the Utah Gerontological Society annual meeting in St. George. Staff toured and talked with personnel at the SP Phosphate Mine in Vernal and the US Magnesium Plant in Rowley, Utah. They also met with public health department personnel in the Tricounty Health Department and the Southeastern Utah Health department.
