The University of Utah's Moran Eye Center is conducting a refractive surgery study. Patients who participate will receive Lasik or PRK at a discounted study rate. We will be comparing the VISX Star 4 Custom Laser treatment to the Allegretto Wave Optimized Laser treatment. These technologies are state-of-the-art and currently used by Moran surgeons for the latest in LASIK surgery. Both lasers are FDA approved and have been shown to be effective for LASIK and PRK surgery.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate these two laser platforms side by side. This will allow us to collect data not currently available. We will be analyzing the healing patterns of the eye following surgery. The fees are $1,200 per eye and will include the screening exams, 12 months of follow-up care, and an enhancement if required.

If you are interested in participating in the studies, you must be over 21 years of age and have healthy eye with no previous eye surgery.
