The Patient Education Materials Web site outlines resources you can call upon to help you develop written materials for patients and their families, and provides some basic tips for effective patient teaching. Several hundred patient education materials are cataloged, most internally produced, and are available from Patient Education Resources. Take a minute and search your topic to see if the materials you need are already available. A brief review of the APA Publication Manual reminds you how to reference information from articles, books, and the Internet. The SMOG Readability Formula gives you a simple way to determine the reading grade level of your materials. |
