Utah Psoriasis Initiative
Better Treatments for the Future
The Utah Psoriasis Initiative is a medical research study designed to increase our
understanding of the skin disease psoriasis in order to develop better treatments
in the future.
What is Psoriasis?
- Psoriasis is a common skin condition that causes red scaly patches to develop on the skin.
- It can be a severe disfiguring disease that can lessen the quality of life of those who suffer from it.
- The current treatments are not always effective and many of them can have serious side effects.
The Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to collect medical information and DNA (genetic information)
from people with psoriasis in Utah and their families. The study team is composed of
physicians and researchers from the University of Utah.
