Research Interests:

Occupational epidemiology studies, particularly musculoskeletal disorders.

Short Bio:

Dr. Hegmann is the Director of the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and a Professor in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine. He has received board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Hegmann has been the Principle Investigator (PI) and Co-PI for numerous studies. Presently he is involved in two multi-million dollar, multi-state, grant cohort studies -- Upper Limb Musculoskeletal Disorders and Low Back Pain -- at the University of Utah. Dr. Hegmann has lectured throughout the United States and internationally, including Egypt, Switzerland, Norway and Korea. Dr. Hegmann teaches Occupational Injuries and Diseases, Clinical Prevention, and Occupational Epidemiology for the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine.

Chemical, biological, and nuclear terrorism preparedness and response.

Short Bio:

Dr. Moser is the Deputy Director of the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and a Professor in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine. He has been in charge of major National Institutes of Health and Air Force epidemiologic research programs and has directed manufacturing facility occupational medical programs. Dr. Moser has had a strong interest in education and served as director of the USAF Aerospace Medicine Primary Course and aeromedical continuing education courses as well as director of residency programs in aerospace medicine, occupational medicine, and general preventive medicine. He currently directs a number of graduate and continuing education courses at the University of Utah. A major teaching emphasis is management of occupational and environmental health and safety programs, and he teaches a graduate course on teh topic. He also published a number of papers and one textbook, currently in its second edition, on this subject.

Industrial Ergonomics, Occupational Biomechanics, Rehabilitation Ergonomics, Ergonomics applications and workplace designs for workers with disabilities.

Short Bio:

Dr. Bloswick is the Director of the Ergonomics & Safety Program at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. He is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah where he teaches and directs research in the areas of ergonomics, safety, occupational biomechanics, and rehabilitation engineering and holds adjunct appointments in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, Department of Bioengineering, Division of Physical Therapy, and Division of Occupational Therapy. Don is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Professional Ergonomist with 10 years of full-time industrial experience. For the past 15 years he has served as an ergonomics and safety trainer and consultant to industry, OSHA, and the legal community throughout the United States.

Short Bio:

Connie Crandall is the Director of the Continuing Education Program at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, a position she has held since 1985. She also oversees the Hazardous Substances Training Program as well as the activities of the Mountain West OSHA Education Center.  She works closely with both Center and adjunct faculty to provide over 75 programs annually consisting of both short courses and conferences.  She received her MA degree from the University of Utah in 1976 and her MBA from the University of Phoenix in 1991.

Short Bio:

Dr. Holmes has been the Director of the Occupational Medicine Program at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health since 2001. He is also the Residency Director of the Occupational Medicine Program. Additional administrative experience includes Medical Director of Columbia Health Care (1995-1997) and Medical Director of Occupational Health Associates (1990-1995). He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from teh University of Kentucky in 1989 and his Masters of Public Health from the University of Utah in 2000. Hist post-graduate training includes an intership in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (1989-1990) and a residency in Occupational Medicine (completed 2001) at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. He has received board certification from teh American Board of Preventive Medicine and is certifiied as Medical Review Officer from the AAMRO.

Monitoring method development for antineoplastic agents and other hazardous chemicals, design of ventilation systems for controlling exposures, biological monitoring and development of monitoring indices, indoor environmental evaluation methods (both chemical and biological contaminants).

Short Bio:

Dr. Larson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Utah. He teaches courses related to occupational and environmental health, as well as industrial toxicology. He directs research in areas related to monitoring for chemical, physical and biological contaminants, application of engineering controls, and use of personal protective equipment. Rod has over 30 years of experience, 14 of which he spent working full-time in industry with a major petro-chemical company. For the past 14 years he has managed his own occupational and environmental consulting business while also completing his Ph.D. with focus on development of methods for evaluating exposures to chemotherapy agents.
