The Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational & Environmental Health was founded in 1977, and has been a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) ERC (Education & Research Center) since 1978. The RMCOEH was originally located in the old Fort Douglas hospital building, but has sinced moved to the Research Park area near the University of Utah campus where the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine is located.
