OSHA #3095 (formerly 309A): Electrical Standards
This course is designed to provide the student with an in-depth
study of OSHA's electrical standards and the hazards associated with electrical
installations and equipment. Topics include single- and three-phase systems, cord- and
plug-connected and fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuit interrupters,
hazardous locations, and safety-related work practices. The hazards of power generation,
transmission, and distribution systems are also covered. Emphasis is placed on electrical
hazard recognition and OSHA inspection procedures. Hands-on training is provided using
various types of electrical test equipment.
Knowledge of the OSH Act, procedures and standards is preferred. Knowledge of basic electricity is NOT required.
