Research Interests:

Industrial Ergonomics, Occupational Biomechanics, Rehabilitation Ergonomics, Ergonomics applications and workplace designs for workers with disabilities.

Short Bio:

Dr. Bloswick is the Director of the Ergonomics & Safety Program at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. He is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah where he teaches and directs research in the areas of ergonomics, safety, occupational biomechanics, and rehabilitation engineering and holds adjunct appointments in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, Department of Bioengineering, Division of Physical Therapy, and Division of Occupational Therapy. Don is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Professional Ergonomist with 10 years of full-time industrial experience. For the past 15 years he has served as an ergonomics and safety trainer and consultant to industry, OSHA, and the legal community throughout the United States.

Occupational epidemiology studies, particularly musculoskeletal disorders.

Short Bio:

Dr. Hegmann is the Director of the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and a Professor in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine. He has received board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Hegmann has been the Principle Investigator (PI) and Co-PI for numerous studies. Presently he is involved in two multi-million dollar, multi-state, grant cohort studies -- Upper Limb Musculoskeletal Disorders and Low Back Pain -- at the University of Utah. Dr. Hegmann has lectured throughout the United States and internationally, including Egypt, Switzerland, Norway and Korea. Dr. Hegmann teaches Occupational Injuries and Diseases, Clinical Prevention, and Occupational Epidemiology for the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine.

Short Bio:

Family: (pictures) Rich and Kim moved to Utah from Illinois by way of Georgia, Minnesota and South Carolina. They have two chi9ldren, Tony and Anabel. Kim is a recreation therapist who is now a full time mother. She will return to graduate school when the children are both in full time school. They enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, and geocaching.

Work: Rich's primary research interests include ergonomic modeling to estimate occupational resk factores and imporved methods for ergonomic injury screening, particularly using vibrotactile testing methods.

Interests: Watching and wagering on collegiate sporting events (humiliation bets), fixing or rpairing things that should probably be thrown away, getting a deal on anything (especially by haggling) making fun of BYU, playing basketball wtih students and complaining.
