Surgical Services
Surgical Services is dedicated to providing the highest quality care with the most advanced technology during surgery.
Surgical Services is compiled of several individual departments including the Anesthesia Workroom,
Clinic 1B, the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and the Short Stay Unit. These departments
work together to maintain high standard care, and to insure the utmost level of patient attention.
Surgery
The goal at the University of Utah Hospital is to provide a safe and comfortable experience while
undergoing inpatient or outpatient surgery.
Inpatient surgeries are those that require the patient to stay overnight after the surgery.
Outpatient surgeries are those that can be done quickly and can be performed outside of a
hospital's operating room.
