University of Utah Overview
- The University of Utah Hospital is a tertiary care medical center. It is a referral center for six states in the intermountain west.
- The hospital is a Trauma Level I Center and is affiliated with the University of Utah Medical School and Huntsman Cancer Center.
Scope of Practice
There are 16 operating rooms in which surgical cases vary from elective to emergent with service provided to all age groups from the newborn to geriatric patient.

This care is provided by identifying and meeting the
psychological, physiological, and sociological needs of the individual patient through multidisciplinary collaboration with all health care professionals involved in the surgical aspect of the patient's care.
