Kids Kidney Center
The University of Utah has a long tradition of excellence in the treatment of pediatric patients with End Stage Renal Disease. As an early pioneer in dialysis and transplant of infants and children, the University of Utah has created a pediatric transplant program that specializes in the care of patients from birth through 21 years of age.
Kids Kidney Center
The Kids Kidney Center is part of the University of Utah Hospital and is one of the largest and most successful Pediatric Kidney Transplant Programs west of the Mississippi. The program utilizes the specialized skills and resources of professional staff trained in pediatric care, to provide the highest level of clinical expertise to all pediatric patients with End Stage Renal Disease. The Kid’s Kidney Center collaborates with the Adult Kidney Transplant program and benefits from the full range of transplant specialists that are part of the University Transplant Program. This collaboration provides a high degree of continuity as a child grows into adulthood.
Expert Care
Our patients have access to a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals: transplant nephrologists, surgeons, registered nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, financial advisors, and support staff. The team has extensive experience in all phases of care from initial diagnosis, through evaluation and post-operative follow-up. The team has numerous years experience providing care to pediatric patients and families.
