Triple Board Program About Triple Board
The Triple Board Program is a residency program that combines training in Pediatrics, General Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. The University of Utah was one of the original six institutions in the United States which participated in a model program designed to train child psychiatrists with a firm foundation in basic pediatrics. The program integrates twenty-four months of core pediatrics, eighteen months of general psychiatry, and eighteen months of child psychiatry over a five-year curriculum. A graduate of this five-year program will be board eligible in all three disciplines. There are a variety of careers a graduate can pursue, and our alumni have run the gamut. A close collaborative relationship between the faculties of the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Psychiatry exemplifies the commitment of both departments to this program.
